Omni Sound Project is a female-owned education center offering affordable audio engineering classes and private lessons, presented by female-identifying and gender non-conforming teachers. As a business, we are committed to offering financial support to Girls Rock Austin through our fundraising efforts and personal contributions. We are dedicated to being the most accessible point of entry to the music and audio industries, providing opportunities for learning to under-represented communities, and spotlighting the talents of female identifying, trans, and gender non-conforming audio professionals. All genders are invited to attend our online educational events. Female identifying, trans, and gender non-conforming people may become members of the Omni Sound Project for access to studio tours, interviews, and in-person events. |

Lisa Machac is the founder and director of Omni Sound Project.
Lisa is a musician based in Austin, Texas. After recording her own album in 2010, she became interested in audio engineering and took courses from Women's Audio Mission in San Francisco. Upon returning to Texas, Lisa started dreaming about creating a community of women+ in audio in Austin. In February of 2020, Omni Sound Project was launched with over 20 local, in-person events scheduled for the year. Just a couple of months later, all of our classes were shifted to an online format to respond to the pandemic. Overnight, Omni became a global community of musicians, producers, and engineers who identify as female, GNC, trans, and allies. Lisa believes that the frequency and quality of Omni's classes taught by welcoming, inclusive teachers makes the organization a genuine community that is steadily increasing gender representation in the audio industry. |
