Participants were provided four composing prompts and a free download of the BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover library. After taking a few days to work on their own compositions, several participants volunteered to share their creations in our "Hear and Tell" session. Homay Schmitz provided valuable feedback for each participant. We were honored to be provided the opportunity to work with Spitfire Audio on this event. Together, we achieved our goal of providing female, GNC, and trans folks a safe and welcoming space to explore new skills. ![]() In 2020, Omni Sound Project: Hosted 33 classes, free events, and studio tours Welcomed hundreds of members into our community Interviewed women in audio every Wednesday night on Instagram Partnered with several corporate sponsors to keep our class fees low Launched private lessons with female-identify experts in audio engineering, voice over, film sound, and foley The Omni team can't adequately express our gratitude to all of you for joining in this project with us. Omni Sound Project's teachers, supporters, and members (that's YOU) have truly been the inspiration to stay excited and motivated about the future. We hope it's brought you some lightness, too. We can't wait for 2021. It will be difficult, to be sure, but we know now that we can get through it together. In the end, we're just a bunch of folks sitting at our computers (in spare bedrooms, home studios, dining rooms, even closets!) creating a community of loving, supportive, and talented people who are making the future safer and more welcoming for marginalized genders. That's not nothin'. Let's celebrate the end of a transformative year and raise a toast to a glowing future together! Happy New Year! |
