As a result of the historic ice storm currently ravaging the state of Texas, several Omni Sound Project teachers have been negatively impacted by the storm. All lost power, most lost water, and many are now assessing the damage to their homes. Several lost income for the week.
As a response to this emergency, Omni Sound Project has started a GoFundMe for our teachers. Funds raised will be distributed among teachers in Texas according to their financial needs. To donate, visit the GoFundMe page here.
Recently, Omni Sound Project partnered with BABY Audio to present an Intro to Plugins class, taught by Marisa Ewing. Using BABY Audio's plugins as examples, Marisa illustrated different types of plugins and their applications. She also reviewed common information needed to successfully use plugins, such as system requirements, how to install them, and how to use them within recording software. Students emerged from class with a new-found understanding of using plugins to enhance their recordings and the confidence to experiment!
For more information on BABY Audio's products, be sure to check out their website.

Members of Omni Sound Project were treated to a virtual tour of Ear Trumpet Labs in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, January 14th in advance of our Intro to Recording with Microphones class.
During the tour, manager Malachi Graham showcased several Ear Trumpet microphones and walked us through the factory where each product is carefully assembled by hand. She answered Omni members questions and invited them for a live tour when the facility reopens!
Ear Trumpet also generously donated an Edwina microphone to a lucky participant in the Recording with Microphones class, which was taught by core faculty member Cinnamon Denise.
