On April 20th, Omni Sound Project is partnering with Goodhertz to present a free Four Track Challenge for members to practice mixing skills in an encouraging atmosphere. Goodhertz is a Californian audio software company based in Los Angeles, though their employees work from Seoul, Seattle, and London. They currently make audio plugins for Windows & Mac, and they also license audio algorithms for embedding on just about any platform you can think of.
Participants will receive prompts to practice mixing a song using the Goodhertz plugin Megaverb. and then are invited to share their creations at Hear and Tell. The challenge begins on Tuesday, April 20th and Hear and Tell will be held online on Tuesday, April 27th at noon CST. Plus, all participants will receive a free trial of Goodhertz plugins, plus a special discount code to use on future Goodhertz purchases when they share their creation online! On April 15th, guest teacher Danelle Cloutier will lead an Intro Class on broadcast recording. The class will introduce students to the fast-paced technical careers in live radio and rundown what it’s like to work in a newsroom. The class will emphasize the technical responsibilities of a broadcast technician, technology used, and the skills needed to help you succeed.
Danelle Cloutier is a journalist and audio engineer, and has worked in live radio for five years. Her last position was with Canada’s public broadcaster, where she worked as an associate producer and audio technician for live current affairs radio shows. In that position she programmed music, ran the soundboard for daily shows and set up and ran equipment for remote broadcasts.

On March 27th, music producer Lisa Kacos will lead a three-hour interactive workshop focusing on music production. In this workshop, participants will analyze a song together, figure out how the musical building blocks fit together to make the song special, and then apply what we discover as we create an original piece of music together using both MIDI and recorded audio. Workshop will be presented in Logic Pro X and attendees are welcome to follow along using any DAW of choice.
Lisa Kacos is a performer, creator, and educator living in Nashville, TN. A multi-instrumentalist with a Master of Music Theory, Lisa teaches college courses, private lessons, and online workshops. She drums for the band Outer Vibe and often plays trumpet with a variety of Nashville artists.
Omni Sound Project is partnering with Lauten Audio to present this workshop. Lauten Audio is a small, family-owned and operated maker of original, inspiring microphones. Lauten Audio was founded on the belief that art should be honored, but not copied. They believe in solving problems through innovation, and that good design should simplify your life.

On March 18th, voice actor Lena Hill will lead an Intro Class exploring the technical side of voice over, podcasting, and livestreaming. The class will explore the basics of voice audio engineering. From good beginner equipment to DAWs to EQ, students will be coached to sound pristine after this class.
Lena Hill has been a full-time professional voice actor for the past five years and a professional actor/performer for the past twenty. She has worked consistently in all areas of voice over. She’s best knowns as the voice of Lefty in the world famous game Five Nights at Freddy’s. She’s also voiced for brands such as Harley Davidson, Dunkin Donuts, Verizon, Marriott, HEB and many others. Lena is a private coach with Lone Star VO, a community and education source for Texas based voice talent.
Omni Sound Project is partnering with Source Elements to present this class. Source Element's collaboration tools address the complexity of creating audio and video content when talent and engineers cannot be in the same location. Source Elements' products were built by creative industry professionals that know the requirements to meet industry standards, creative flexibility and reduce time to production. As a result of the historic ice storm currently ravaging the state of Texas, several Omni Sound Project teachers have been negatively impacted by the storm. All lost power, most lost water, and many are now assessing the damage to their homes. Several lost income for the week.
